WHAT ARE THE OPENING TIMES?

The Museum and Art Gallery’s regular opening times are as follows:

Tuesday – Saturday: 10:00am - 5:00pm (last entry at 4:00pm)

Sundays and Mondays: Museum closed

Bank Holidays (when open): 11:00am - 4:00pm (last entry at 3:00pm)

IS THERE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?

Yes, we have made every effort to ensure that the site is accessible and friendly to all but at a certain point on the museum journey, wheelchair users will use an alternative route to enter the next stage of the Museum because of steps (further guidance is available at the Welcome Desk or by contacting the Museum).

We also have a fully accessible toilet by the Gift Shop.

One car parking space is available at the front of the Museum and Art Gallery for visitors with mobility issues. Unfortunately, this space cannot be booked in advance.

WILL I NEED TO PRE-BOOK MY TICKET?

We welcome visitors who want to pay in adavnce via our website, or who wish to pay on the day at the Welcome Desk in the Museum and Art Gallery.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I BUY A TICKET ONLINE?

On completion of your online order, you will be emailed your eTicket containing a barcode and a unique Booking Reference Number. Present this eTicket on arrival, preferably on your phone. Alternatively, you can print your ticket out or just make a note of the Booking Reference Number and bring that along with you.

HOW DO I USE MY eTICKET?

You will be emailed an order confirmation that will include your unique Booking Reference Number and an eTicket that contains a barcode.

When you arrive at Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery, please present your ticket on either your smart phone or bring a printed copy.

If you don’t have a smart phone or a printer, please make a note of the Booking Reference Number, which you will receive on your ticket when you book online.

I DON’T HAVE A PRINTER…

You do not have to print out the eight (8) digit booking reference – simply make a note of the Booking Reference Number and bring it with you together with some proof of identification.

WHERE DO I GO UPON ARRIVAL?

Please enter the Museum and Art Gallery at the main entrance on St Peter’s Road, unless otherwise stated on your booking confirmation email.

WILL THERE BE INTERACTIVES AT THE MUSEUM?

Yes. They will be cleaned regularly by the Museum team throughout the day.

CAN I PAY WITH CASH?

We would encourage all visitors to pay through contactless methods if possible, but we do accept cash payments if necessary.

 

HOW LONG WILL MY VISIT LAST FOR?

We would recommend that you give yourself a couple of hours to see the exhibits and collections, enjoy the Museum and Art Gallery buildings, visit our coffee shop and wander around the Museum and Art Gallery shop.

For a specific event, we will state the running time on our website where possible.

WILL THE SHOP BE OPEN?

The shop will be open at the same time as the Museum and Art Gallery.

IS THERE A COFFEE SHOP AT THE MUSEUM?

The Coffee Shop is situated in the Museum and Art Gallery Courtyard and is open to both Museum and non-Museum visitors.

The Coffee Shop is open from 9:30am to 4:00pm from Tuesday through to Saturday each week (closed on Sundays and Mondays).

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE AN ADMISSION TICKET TO ENTER THE COURTYARD AND VISIT THE COFFEE SHOP?

No, access to the Courtyard and Coffee Shop is separate to the Museum and Art Gallery. Simply walk through the gate on the left side of the Museum, walk into the Courtyard and the Coffee Shop is in the left-hand corner.

IS CAR PARKING AVAILABLE?

There is one parking space in front of the Museum and Art Gallery, which is available for visitors with mobility issues. Unfortunately, this space cannot be booked in advance.

There is no further on-site parking, however there is public car parking available at Tesco, the town’s Central Car Park and the Festival Hall Car Park. All are about a five minute walk from the Museum buildings.

CAN I PURCHASE A TICKET ON THE DAY?

Museum and Art Gallery admission tickets can be purchased at the Welcome Desk, subject to availability.

Tickets for events are also available on the day of the event, subject to availability.

 

CAN I MAKE GROUP BOOKINGS ONLINE?

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON REFUNDS?

A refund for admission/event is only available if the Museum and Art Gallery  is closed or the event is cancelled. If an event is cancelled, we will contact you and issue a refund.

If an event is rescheduled, we will contact you with the new date and time as soon as possible. If you are unable to attend the new date, please let us know and we will arrange a refund.

If you cannot make an event you have booked for, contact us at least seven days before the event is scheduled and we will endeavour to help accommodate your request.
