24 Sept (10 Week Course): Still Life in Pastels with Livvy Stainer (Block1)
Develop your creative skills and hone your drawing techniques in our Still Life in Pastels Workshop led by artist Livvy Stainer.
Join artist and tutor Livvy Stainer in this still life creative workshop. In this study of still life drawing, we will be focusing on observational and drawing skills including:
- Form
- Structure
- Light and Shadow
- Colour Layering and mixing
The workshop is organised in small classes to allow for hands-on guidance and step by step demonstrations from the tutor. Our emphasis is to allow artists to gain confidence and develop individual style.
Workshop Details
The Still Life in Pastels Workshop course is scheduled in two blocks:
BLOCK 1
- Course runs Tuesday 24 September – Tuesday 22 October 2024
- Workshop dates: 24 September, 1 October, 8 October, 15 October and 22 October.
- £70 per person
BLOCK 2
- Course runs Tuesday 5 November – Tuesday 3 December 2024
- Workshop dates: 5 November, 12 November, 19 November, 26 November and 3 December.
- £70 per person
Block 2 will re-introduce topics and techniques covered in Block 1.
The Still Life in Pastels Workshop course is best suited for artists aged 18+.
Materials
Basic initial materials will be supplied, but participants are highly recommended to bring the following equipment:
- Pastel set (Jacksons Pastel set/CassArt Pastel set)
- Toned pastel paper (CassArt Pastel paper)
- Graphite pencils
- Willow charcoal
- Putty rubbers
- Fixative
About Livvy Stainer:
Livvy Stainer is a portrait artist and tutor. She has been painting and drawing professionally for 30 years. She trained at the renowned Heatherleys School of Figurative Art in Chelsea and has specialized in child and family portrait commissions for the last 20 years. She has a passion for drawing and painting the human figure and runs regular drawing classes in her hometown. She also runs painting and drawing workshops for various organisations across Hampshire.
