As part of the Edward Thomas Literary Festival 2024, Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery is thrilled to present our first-ever Poetry Open Mic Night. This special event promises an evening filled with creativity, emotion, and community spirit. Whether you are a poet eager to share your work or a lover of poetry ready to be captivated, this night is for you.

Guest Poets:

We are honored to welcome two distinguished poets, Ellora Sutton and Jess Mookerjee, whose evocative performances will leave you spellbound. Their readings will set the stage for an unforgettable night of literary artistry.

Open Mic Participation:

Are you a poet looking to share your voice? This is your moment! Participants are invited to read one selected work, fitting on a single sheet of A4 paper, with a maximum reading time of 5 minutes. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your talent in a supportive and appreciative environment.

Enjoy the Evening:

- Fully Licensed Bar: Sip on a selection of fine beverages while you immerse yourself in the poetic ambiance.

- Relaxed Atmosphere: Our welcoming setting is perfect for both performers and listeners to enjoy the magic of poetry.

How to Participate:

- Poets: Although there is no need to sign up to read in advance, if you would like to share your poetry we reccomend signing up in advance by selecting the 'Poet' ticket when booking for the event, then one of our team will be in touch with more details.
Not sure if you want to read? No problem, there will also be opportuity to sign up on the night if there is space available.

- Audience Members: Advance booking is reccomended to secure your seat at this event.
