Bound Together: Modern British Bookbinding explores the captivating life and legacy of internationally renowned bookbinder and conservator Roger Powell, whose innovative work connects traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.

Discover Powell’s remarkable career, from his beginnings with leading bookbinder Douglas Cockerell, to establishing his own bindery in Froxfield near Petersfield. Learn about his conservation of the Book of Kells for Trinity College Dublin and his role in the restoration of flood-damaged books in Florence in 1966. Louise will also introduce contemporary bookbinding works by members of Designer Bookbinders, showcasing the extraordinary skill and creativity that keeps this tradition alive today.
